Dr. Kory Blank, an orthopedic surgeon who has served at Fairfield Memorial Hospital since August 2021, has accepted a new position with Hannibal Regional Health System in Hannibal, Missouri.

A native of Wayne City, Dr. Blank is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation at Southern Illinois University in Springfield. Fairfield Memorial officials say Dr. Blank informed the hospital of his plans to depart in November 2024.

Hannibal Regional Health System, Dr. Blank’s new employer, has a long-standing history of service in northeast Missouri. The health system was formed through the merger of Levering Hospital and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in the late 1980s, with the current 99-bed acute care facility opening in 1993.
