Clark James Ewing, 19, of Fairfield, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at his home. He was born on September 19, 2005, in Fairfield, IL, to Lawrence Ewing and Ashley (Lowe) Lord.
Clark never met a stranger and never passed up a chance to debate. He was a self-proclaimed comedian and part-time rapper. Even though Clark endured many pains and struggles in his 19 years, he always met them with a smile and a plan. He could do math faster than a calculator and was a Rubik’s cube extraordinaire. He loved music and Uno, but most of all, he loved his family.
Survivors include his parents Lawrence Ewing and Ashley (Paul, Jr) Lord both of Fairfield, paternal grandparents Alvin and Ladonna Ewing of Fairfield, siblings Zachary Hurley, Evan Owen, Sadie Waldrop and Journey Waldrop, bonus siblings Nick Ewing, Alycia Best, Kaydee Garner, Ace Haygood, Dylan Garner, Steven Smith, and Jazmyn Smith, step-siblings Rome Lord and Marisa Lord, aunts Jessica (Jared) Lawyer, Shana Ewing, and Misti (Howard) Thompson, uncles Monty (Doris) Ewing and Alvin “Buddy” Ewing, cousins Kenny Ewing, Rick (Rachel) Ewing, Crystal Ewing, Billie Ewing, Aiden Hasse, Addison Lawyer and Emmy Lawyer, and his niece Zaya Hurley.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Tammy Sue Lowe and Jeffrey Allen Beck.
Per the family’s request, Clark’s body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, July 18th, at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial to follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, south of Fairfield. A visitation will be held from 5pm-8pm on Thursday, July 17th at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the Neurofibromatosis (NF) Network and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
