By Mark Wells Jul 11, 2025 | 5:59 AM

Jasper Grade School is set to appoint a new superintendent during its upcoming meeting on Thursday, July 17th at 6pm. The board members are expected to review applications and select a candidate to succeed Shari Berger, who recently resigned to accept a position in speech pathology with WOVSED—Wabash and Ohio Valley Special Education District, headquartered in Norris City.

District Board President Josh Zurliene says that the board has been going through the list of candidates the last several weeks and has been narrowed down, with a final decision anticipated on July 17th.  Zurliene says the board does have a special meeting tonight ( Friday) to go over the lists of candidates.  Berger joined the Jasper District in 2020 as a speech pathologist before earning her administrative credentials and serving three full years as superintendent.
