The 2025 Clay County Fair is set for a weeklong celebration of agriculture, youth programs, and community entertainment that begins Friday, July 18th and runs through Friday, July 25th at Charley Brown Park in Flora.
The fair opens Friday, July 18th at 4:00 p.m. with the popular 4-H BBQ at the REA Building. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for the Crain Scates Bucking Bulls Rodeo, hosted by the Clay County Farm Bureau Young Leaders. Admission to the rodeo is $15, with free entry for children five and under. Mutton busting will be offered for kids under 80 lbs. at $10 per entry—only 30 spots are available.
Saturday, July 19th begins at 8:00 a.m. with poultry and rabbit check-ins, followed by the poultry show at 9:00 a.m. and the 4-H and Junior Rabbit Show. All livestock must be on the grounds by 3:00 p.m., with a mandatory exhibitor meeting and vet check to follow. The day wraps up with the open sheep show at 7:00 p.m.
Sunday’s lineup includes the Junior Sheep Show at 11:00 a.m. and the Junior Goat Show at noon. Registration for the kids’ pedal tractor pull begins at 1:00 p.m., with the pull at 2:00 p.m., also hosted by the Farm Bureau Young Leaders. The 4-H and Junior Horse Show takes place at 2:00 p.m., followed by the Clay County Ministerial Alliance program from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The crowd favorite greased pig contest, sponsored by UPI Fairfield, will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Monday, July 21st features the 4-H Beef Show and Junior Beef Show starting at 8:00 a.m., AITC activities from 2:00–4:00 p.m., and the Mini Livestock Show at 5:00 p.m. The Little Miss Pageant closes the night at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 2–12.
Tuesday is Nutrien Ag Solutions Day, with giveaways and activities throughout the day. Events include the 4-H Swine Show and Open Beef Show at 8:00 a.m., Sheep Show at 1:00 p.m., 4-H Goat Show at 2:30 p.m., and the Master Showmanship Contest at 5:00 p.m. The Junior Miss Pageant and Queen Pie Auction take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 2–12.
Wednesday, July 23rd starts with the Junior Swine Show at 8:00 a.m. and the Open Goat Show. DaS zle Dance and Tumble will perform at 5:00 p.m. with free admission, followed by the 4-H Livestock Auction at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday begins at 8:00 a.m. with the Open Dairy Show. At 5:00 p.m., Joni’s Power & Grace Tumbling will perform for free on the fair stage. The Clay County Fair Talent Show follows at 7:00 p.m., featuring three divisions and a $50 prize for each winner. Talent show registration is open until July 17 at ACT Tire and Automotive; the entry fee is $25.
The 2025 Clay County Fair concludes Friday, July 25th with the annual Clay County Fair Queen Pageant at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 2–12.
With livestock shows, youth competitions, family activities, and nightly entertainment, this year’s Clay County Fair promises a week packed with fun for all ages.
