Wayne County 4-H recently hosted its annual animal and livestock shows, showcasing the talents and dedication of local youth in various categories. The events included horse, cat, dog, rabbit, poultry, beef, goat, swine, sheep, and the Round Robin Contest, with numerous participants earning top honors.
The Horse Show took place on Saturday, June 28th, with Cooper Coston earning the Junior Champion title, while Kemberlin Walker was named Intermediate Champion, and Ryleigh Taylor took home the Senior Champion award. Kemberlin Walker was also recognized as the High Point Individual Overall, with Ryleigh Taylor as Reserve. The show also honored top showmen across age groups.
On Monday, June 30th, the Cat and Dog Shows highlighted outstanding performances, with Jacey Smith earning High Point Advanced and Reserve High Point Advanced titles, while Madyson Peddicord was named High Point Beginner. The Dog Show crowned Jacey Smith as the top senior showman.
The Rabbit Show on Monday, July 7th, saw Kemberlin Walker crowned Best of Show, with Ronen Tannahill securing the Grand Champion Market Pen. Notable participants included Allison Reid and Kacie Kinsolving as Junior and Senior Showmen, respectively.
The Poultry Show, held on the same day, resulted in Isabelle Edmison being named Grand Champion Female, and Lyla Fearn as Grand Champion Male. The Market Pen titles went to Kentley and Mason Ethridge.
The Beef Show on Tuesday, July 8th, recognized Kaylin Loker as the Supreme Female and Callen Robbins as the Grand Champion Market Animal. Other notable winners included Samuel Edmison for Champion Bucket Calf and Ryleigh Taylor as Senior Showman.
The Goat Show, also on July 8th, crowned Quay Johnson as Grand Champion Dairy Female and Kenleigh Keyser as the Meat Female champion. Jamie Jo Smith and Kemberlin Walker earned top honors in the Market Animal and Novelty Female categories, respectively.
The Swine Show on July 9th awarded Ryn Keyser as the Supreme Female and Grand Champion Market Animal. Logan Hodges and Kaden Hutto shared the Rate of Gain title, while Ryn Keyser was recognized as Junior Showman.
The Sheep Show, held on the same day, highlighted Addisyn Hutchcraft as the Supreme Female and Corbin Hutchcraft as the Grand Champion Market Animal. Alex Bond was named the Rate of Gain Winner.
The week concluded with the Round Robin Contest on Thursday, July 10th, where Ava Lewis was named the Grand Champion Senior Showman, with Ryleigh Taylor as Reserve. Other top titles went to Harper Buchanan (Intermediate) and Corbin Hutchcraft (Junior).
