The St. Louis Cardinals are gearing up for the second half of the season. The Cardinals visit the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field tomorrow. St. Louis is just a game-and-a-half out of the final Wild Card spot in the National League with a 51-and-46 record. Tomorrow’s game starts at 8:40PM.
The Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox are enjoying their final day off before the second half of the season. Both teams return to action tomorrow. The Cubs will host the Boston Red Sox at 1:20PM, while the Southsiders have a road game against Pittsburgh at 5:40PM.

(St. Louis, MO) — The St. Louis Blues have their schedule for next season. The NHL released the schedules for all of its teams yesterday. St. Louis opens the season with a home game against the Minnesota Wild on October 9th. The 82-game slate will come to a close with a contest at Utah on April 16th.

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Blackhawks have their schedule for next season. The NHL released the regular season schedules for all of its teams yesterday. The Hawks begin the season with a road game against the Florida Panthers on October 7th. Chicago’s home opener will be against Montreal four days later, and the Blackhawks wrap up their 82-game slate with a home game against San Jose on April 15th.

(Undated) — The Washington Commanders are reportedly making a big splash. Washington is signing veteran linebacker Von Miller, according to multiple reports. The eight-time Pro Bowler had 17 total tackles and six sacks in 13 games for the Bills last season. Miller ranks 16th in NFL history with 129-and-a-half sacks in his career and was the MVP of Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos.

(El Segundo, CA) — The Chargers are likely to be without a new member of their offense when training camp begins. Los Angeles general manager Joe Hortiz said that running back Najee Harris will likely begin training camp on the non-football injury/illness list. Harris sustained an eye injury in a fireworks mishap on Independence Day. The 27-year-old would be able to return to practice whenever he is cleared by the team. Harris is joining the Chargers after spending the first four years with the Steelers.

(Undated) — The Broncos have inked their first-round draft pick to his rookie deal. ESPN reports that Denver cornerback Jahdae Barron has reported to training camp after reaching a contract agreement with the team. Barron was selected 20th overall by the Broncos in April’s NFL Draft. He has agreed to a four-year deal worth just over 18-million-dollars. The deal also includes a signing bonus of 9.8-million-dollars.

Bill Belichick responded to Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s comments about taking a big risk by trading a first round pick to the Jets for Belichick in 1999. Belichick said it was he that took a “big risk” by joining a flailing franchise with few resources that was over 10-million-dollars over the salary cap. As head coach of the Pats, Belichick won 17 division titles, made 13 AFC Championship Games, and won six Super Bowls.

(Undated) — The Clippers are set to add a three-time NBA All-Star to the roster. Bradley Beal has agreed to a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns and is planning to join Los Angeles on a two-year, 11-million-dollar deal. The contract includes a player option following the first year of the deal. The 32-year-old will now join a lineup that includes Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and Brook Lopez. He averaged 17 points in 53 games played with the Suns last season.

(Scottsdale, AZ) — Police are investigating after a home owned by Diamondbacks star Ketel Marte was robbed while he was at the All-Star Game. Scottsdale police are calling it a “high-dollar residential burglary” and that several personal items and jewelery were stolen. No one was home at the time of Tuesday night’s burglary. Marte and his family were in Atlanta for the game won by the National League, 7-to-6. He started at second base and hit a two-run double.

(Los Angeles, CA) — The 33rd annual ESPY Awards honored athletes from around the world on Wednesday. Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Simone Biles each took home two individual awards. “SGA” was named best male athlete and Olympic champion Simone Biles was named best female athlete. Barkley was honored a third time, as the Eagles took home the Best Team award.

(Undated) — The NHL is revealing its regular season schedule for the 2025-26 season. Opening night is a triple header on October 7th, featuring the back to back defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers hosting the Chicago Blackhawks. Rounding out the trio of games are the Pittsburgh Penguins visiting the New York Rangers and the Colorado Avalanche at the Los Angeles Kings. This season’s NHL Winter Classic will be between the Rangers and Panthers in Miami on January 2nd, 2026. The season pauses February 6th to 24th for NHL players to participate in the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.

(Portrush, Northern Ireland) — The next major championship is up for grabs with The Open Championship teeing off at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland. Xander Schauffele will be looking to defend his title. The 31-year-old won last year’s tournament after finishing atop the leaderboard at nine under par. Schauffele will be alongside JJ Spaun and Jon Rahm for the first two rounds. Padraig Harrington, Nicolai Hojgaard and Tom McKibbin will be among the first group of players teeing off the tournament.
