NEW YORK SEMI DRIVER INJURED IN SATURDAY EVENING CRASH IN JASPER TOWNSHIP

Wayne County Sheriff’s Department along with Fairfield Rural Fire Department and Wayne County Ambulance personnel responded to a one-vehicle accident Saturday night just after 8 O’clock at 1251 County Hwy 1 in Jasper Township. Deputies say a 2020 Freightliner semi driven by a 25-year-old male subject from out of the country but with an address of Flushing, NY left the roadway and overturned. The driver was extricated from the semi and airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for treatment of injuries.  Deputies says it’s unknown as to why the semi left the roadway.
