A high-speed motorcycle chase last Thursday ended with the arrest of Hunter Miller, who fled from a traffic stop in rural Richland County and led deputies on a multi-county pursuit.
According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Miller sped away from deputies, crossing into Clay and Jasper counties before his motorcycle became stuck in a muddy field, where he was taken into custody without further incident.
Miller was wanted on an active warrant for escape, having failed to report to begin serving a five-year prison sentence for a Class 2 felony theft conviction.
Authorities note that Miller has a criminal history involving theft, drug possession, and fleeing police. His record includes multiple arrests, with some charges resolved through plea agreements and others resulting in prison time.
The Richland County State’s Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case and may file additional charges related to the pursuit.
