RED CROSS URGES BLOOD DONATIONS – CLAY COUNTY DRIVE SET FOR JULY 28TH

By Mark Wells Jul 23, 2025 | 11:55 AM

The American Red Cross is calling on donors to be a force for good by giving blood during July. There is an urgent need for type O+ and O- donors to help meet increased hospital demands.

A blood drive is scheduled for Monday, July 28th, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Clay County Health Department. As a thank-you, all presenting donors at this drive will receive a Fandango Movie Ticket by email — perfect for catching a summer blockbuster.

Donors, especially those with type O blood and platelet donors, are encouraged to help strengthen the blood supply by scheduling a donation in the coming weeks.

To make an appointment, use the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org, or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

Save time on the day of your donation by completing your health history and pre-donation reading using RapidPass at RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass or through the app.

The next local blood drive will be held on Monday, August 12th, at Blue Point Free Will Baptist Church, from Noon to 6 p.m.
