THREE SENTENCED TO PRISON IN CLAY COUNTY COURT

Clay County State’s Attorney Phillip Givens has announced that three individuals have been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections following recent court proceedings.

Steven Moore, 32, of Flora, was sentenced to five years in prison after his probation for unlawful possession of methamphetamine was revoked due to a positive drug test. Moore will serve six months of mandatory supervised release upon completion of his sentence.

Garrett Cosner, 23, of Flora, received a five-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to aggravated battery to a police officer. Cosner admitted to punching a Clay County officer on June 9th. His sentence includes one year of mandatory supervised release following his incarceration.

John Mulvaney, 52, of Kinmundy, was sentenced to three years in prison after his probation for unlawful possession of methamphetamine was revoked. The revocation was the result of a positive drug test for meth. Upon release, Mulvaney will be required to serve six months of court supervision.
