Starting off with a look at YOUTH SPORTS with Fairfield Little League Baseball action brought to you by LaFuente Mexican Restaurant. The Fairfield Little League Baseball Association wrapped up its 2025 season last night with the 14 U League Championship. The game featured a matchup of the two teams with the best records, the undefeated team of Edward Jones-Andrew Diesel and the two-loss team of LeMond’s Chrysler, and saw some gutsy defensive plays by LeMond’s Chrysler and a one-hit shutout pitching performance by the Diesel Brothers from Edward Jones. The highlight of the game came in the bottom of the 3rd inning when Edward Jones’ Kendall Diesel hit the 14 U League’s first over the fence home run of the season. Edward Jones-Andrew Diesel continued to power past LeMond’s Chrysler, eventually shutting them out with a score of 8 to Nothing You can find the score of last night’s Championship game and the DiMaggio’s Pizza Little League Baseball Player of the Week nominees and winners, online at wfiwradio.com.

(Denver, CO) — The St. Louis Cardinals had just five hits during a 6-0 loss to the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. The Cardinals gave up four runs in the bottom of the second and trailed the rest of the way. Andre Pallante was charged with his seventh loss after surrendering five runs on eight hits in five innings. The Cardinals are in fourth place in the NL Central at 52-and-51. They send Sonny Gray to the mound against the Padres tonight.

(St. Louis, MO) — The St. Louis Cardinals are cutting some dead weight. The team designated starting pitcher Erick Fedde for assignment yesterday. Fedde had been a major disappointment since the Cardinals traded for him at last year’s deadline. He’s 5-and-15 with a 4.69 ERA in 30 starts since joining St. Louis. Michael McGreevy is expected to take Fedde’s spot in the rotation.

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Cubs lost the rubber-match of their series against the Kansas City Royals 8-4 from Kauffman Stadium yesterday. Colin Rea was charged with his fourth loss after surrendering five earned runs and one unearned run on six hits in five innings. Matt Shaw and Pete Crow-Armstrong both homered in the losing effort. Chicago is in second place in the NL Central at 60-and-42. The Cubs visit the White Sox tomorrow night.

(Tampa, FL) — The White Sox outlasted the Rays 11-9 to claim their three-game series from Tampa. Colson Montgomery led the offense with five RBI’s as the team plated six runs in the eighth inning. Jordan Leasure picked up his third win in relief. Chicago has won five of its last six games, but the Southsiders are still in last place in the AL Central at 37-and-66. The Sox welcome the Cubs tomorrow.

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Sky aim to avoid a fourth consecutive loss when they host the Seattle Storm at Wintrust Arena tonight. The Sky are coming off a 91-68 road loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday. Chicago is in 11th place in the WNBA with a 7-and-16 record. Tonight’s game tips off at 7:30PM.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Fever are looking to snap their recent slide. Indiana has dropped back to back games entering tonight’s battle. The Fever are playing host to the Las Vegas Aces in Indianapolis.

(Westfield, IN) — Training camp is in full swing for the Colts in Westfield. Anthony Richardson appears to have the lead in the competition with fellow quarterback Daniel Jones. Richardson took a majority of the full-team snaps with the starting offense on Wednesday without any limitations.
