(St. Louis, MO) — The St. Louis Cardinals scored six runs in the bottom of the second inning during a 9-7 win over the San Diego Padres at Busch Stadium. Willson Contreras homered and drove in four runs in the victory, while Brendan Donovan and Ivan Herrera also went deep. Sonny Gray earned his tenth run after allowing six earned runs and one unearned run on 11 hits in five innings. St. Louis is in fourth place in the NL Central at 53-and-51. They send Miles Mikolas to the mound against San Diego tonight.

(Chicago, IL) — The Crosstown rivalry returns to Rate Field when the Chicago Cubs visit the Chicago White Sox tonight. The Northsiders are in second place in the NL Central with a 60-and-42 record, and they send Shota Imanaga to the mound in game one of the weekend series tonight. The 37-and-66 Sox are in last place in the AL Central, and they’ll turn to Adrian Houser this evening. First pitch is at 6:40PM.

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Sky were embarrassed by the Seattle Storm during a 95-57 loss at Wintrust Arena. The Sky trailed by as many as 39 points in the losing effort. Rachel Banham and Kamilla Cardoso each scored 13 points to lead Chicago. The Sky are in 11th place in the WNBA at 7-and-17. They host the Fever tomorrow night.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Fever snapped their two-game skid with an 80-70 win over the Las Vegas Aces from Indianapolis. Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 21 points for Indiana, which will visit the Chicago Sky Sunday afternoon. In other news, Caitlin Clark has no timetable for her return an injury she suffered before the All-Star break.

(Westfield, IN) — The Colts could be dealing with an issue on the offensive line. Left tackle Bernhard Raimann recently said that he and the organization aren’t on the same page when it comes to an extension. Raimann is entering the final year of his rookie contract.

(Lake Forest, IL) — One of the Chicago Bears top rookies still hasn’t practiced at training camp. The team announced that wide receiver Luther Burden-the-third is day-to-day with a hamstring injury. Burden suffered the setback during OTA’s in May. The Bears continue training camp without Burden today.

(Indianapolis, IN) — NASCAR is hitting the bricks this Sunday. The Cup Series field rolls into Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard 400. Denny Hamlin is hoping to build on his Dover victory last weekend as he sits fourth in the standings while Chase Elliott, William Byron and Kyle Larson make up the top-three. Meanwhile, the In-Season Challenge will crown a champion as Ty Gibbs and Ty Dillon duel for a million dollars.
