(St. Louis, MO) — The St. Louis Cardinals managed just four hits during a 5-0 loss to the Miami Marlins at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals surrendered two runs in the top of the second and trailed the rest of the way. Sonny Gray was charged with his fifth loss after allowing three runs on eight hits in five innings. St. Louis is in fourth place in the NL Central at 55-and-54. Miles Mikolas starts for the Cardinals against Miami tonight.

(Milwaukee, WI) — The Chicago Cubs fell further behind in the NL Central race after a 9-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers from American Family Field. The Northsiders trailed by just one before surrendering four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Nico Hoerner homered in the losing effort, while Colin Rea was charged with his fifth loss after allowing four runs on eight hits in four innings. Chicago is in second place in the NL Central at 62-and-45. Shota Imanaga starts for the Cubs against Milwaukee this afternoon.

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago White Sox surrendered four runs in the top of the third during a 6-3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies at Rate Field. The Southsiders were kept off the scoreboard until they scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth. Lenyn Sosa hit his tenth home run in the losing effort, while Jonathan Cannon was charged with his eighth loss after allowing six runs on seven hits in six frames. The Sox remain in last place in the AL Central at 39-and-69. Adrian Houser starts for Chicago against Philadelphia today.

(Washington, DC) — The Chicago Sky are on a six-game losing streak following a 103-86 loss to the Washington Mystics at CareFirst Arena yesterday. The Sky trailed by as many as 19 points in the losing effort. Angel Reese scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while Kamilla Cardoso finished with 21 points. Chicago is in 12th place in the WNBA at 7-and-19. The Sky host the Valkyries on Friday.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Fever are hoping to extend their winning streak. Indiana is hosting the Phoenix Mercury tonight from Indianapolis. The Fever have won back to back games entering tonight’s battle.

(Lake Forest, IL) — The Chicago Bears were back on the field for another day of training camp from Halas Hall yesterday. Rookie wide receiver Luther Burden-the-third practiced in team drills for the first time during camp after recovering from a hamstring injury. The Bears continue training camp today.

(Westfield, IN) — The Colts’ quarterback competition is heating up. Signal callers Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones both put up impressive performances during Tuesday’s practice. Richardson finished nine-of-14 in 11-on-11 and four-of-five in seven-on-seven. Jones was eight-of-11 in 11-on-11 and a perfect four-for-four in seven-on-seven.
