Salem, IL Teen Enters Guilty Pleas in Connection with Three Seperate Incidents

Media reports say a Salem teenager has entered a guilty plea to charges involving three altercations that occurred back in April and May.

18 year old Tyree Wilborn was one person involved in an attack on the occupants of a car driving through Bryan Memorial Park on May 19th.  Wilborn pleaded guilty to mob action.  In return for the guilty plea, charges of aggravated battery, possession of a knife and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon were dropped.  Wilborn also pled guilty to aggravated battery for an alleged attack on another juvenile who had been walking along Roddy Road back on May 11th.  In that case, a charge of mob action was dropped in return for the guilty plea.  Wilborn also pled guilty to obstructing justice and aggravated battery of a police officer after being accused of kicking a correctional officer at the Marion County Jail on  April 25th while being booked after a traffic stop.  Charges of possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card, illegal possession of a firearm and resisting arrest were dropped in exchange for the guilty plea.

Sentencing for Wilborn in all three cases is set for September 16th.
