The investigation into a body discovered in an truck pulled from the Wabash River continues. According to authorities, at around 9:45 a.m. Friday, White County Dispatch was called about an overturned truck in the Wabash River approximately 1 mile South of the New Harmony Bridge. Once on the scene, deputies called for the Shawneetown Dive Team and the IDNR Conservation to respond to the scene to determine if someone was still in the vehicle. The dive team arrived and determined that there was someone in the vehicle. Tri-State Towing and Recovery arrived, and the vehicle was pulled from the river. The individual in the vehicle was identified by Sheriff Weiss as Robert Duvall of Crossville. The White County Coroner’s office has not determined the cause of the death at this time. However, an autopsy will be scheduled. Authorities say at this time no foul play is suspected. The White County Sheriff’s office was assisted by the White County Coroner’s office, White County Ambulance, the Shawneetown Dive Team, and the Carmi Fire Department.
