The Clay County Health Department, in collaboration with the Coalition Against Drug Abuse of Clay County, SIU School of Medicine, and Birth to Five Illinois, will host the county’s first Substance Use Resource & Education (S.U.R.E.) Symposium tomorrow. The event will take place at the Oil Belt Christian Service Camp, with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. Designed to be a community-wide initiative, the S.U.R.E. Symposium aims to provide a safe and informative space for residents, educators, healthcare professionals, and community leaders to learn about substance abuse prevention, recovery, and post-recovery resources. According to organizers, this event brings together local agencies, experts, and the public to share knowledge, connect with resources, and support one another in addressing substance use issues in our community. Attendees can register online by searching for “SURE Symposium” on Eventbrite.com or by using the QR code available on the Clay County Health Department website.
