James Everett Boyd, 84, of Norris City passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Hamilton Memorial in McLeansboro, IL. James was born on September 30, 1940, at his homestead in Norris City, IL the son of Wendall and Lucille (Bloodworth) Boyd. He married his wife, Judy (Stover) Boyd on September 3, 1966, at Sacramento Church in Norris City, IL. James served in the Army as a Private in the Vietnam War. When James got out of the Army he worked at Raben Tire and the Village of Enfield. James would attend services at Enfield Baptist Church. He also loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his granddaughter.
James is survived by his son, Curtiss (Farrah) Boyd of Norris City; two siblings, Wayne (Lavada) Boyd and Connie Conlin; one grandchild, Madison (Nevan) Leu of Norris City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Boyd and one sibling, Max Ward.
Graveside services and burial will be at Enfield Cemetery on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 1:00p.m. with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in James’s memory to Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi or by mail to 609 W. Main Street, Carmi, IL 62821.
