The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced planned closures on both eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 64 from milepost 62 to 73 on Tuesday night for roadway patching and guardrail repairs, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Eastbound I-64 will be closed from 7:00 PM to 2:00 AM
Westbound I-64 will be closed from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
IDOT officials say each direction will reopen as soon as work is safely completed. During the closures, traffic will be detoured via Illinois Route 15.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution, follow posted detour signs, and allow extra travel time during the work.
