MAN FACES MULTIPLE DRUG CHARGES FOLLOWING MT. VERNON TRAFFIC STOP

A Mt. Vernon traffic stop Sunday night led to the arrest of a man now facing multiple drug-related charges.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped Corey A. Williams, 54, near the intersection of South 17th Street and Casey Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Deputies were aware that Williams’ driver’s license had been revoked.
During the arrest and subsequent investigation, large quantities of illegal drugs were found inside his vehicle. Additional illegal substances were discovered on Williams after he was transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
Williams has been charged with:
Delivery/Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine
Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession with Intent to Deliver Cannabis over 30 grams
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine)
Bringing or Possessing Contraband into a Penal Institution
Driving While License Revoked
He is being held in the Jefferson County Jail pending a pretrial detention hearing.
