A Florida man was injured last Friday afternoon in Wayne County when his vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment while attempting to avoid another vehicle.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on August 8th on County Road 2300 East near County Road 750 North. Meng Francisco Venegas, 48, of Kissimmee, Fla., was driving a 2022 Ford van southbound when he approached the embankment of a railroad crossing.
The crash report states that Venegas was traveling in the center of the roadway as a second vehicle crossed the railroad tracks. To avoid contact, Venegas swerved, left the roadway, and struck a ditch/embankment, causing the van to come to rest.
Venegas was transported by Wayne County Ambulance personnel to Fairfield Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
