(Green Bay, WI) — Packers quarterback Jordan Love went under the knife. The Green Bay signal caller underwent a procedure to repair an injury to a ligament in his left thumb. Brian Gutekunst, the team’s general manager, told reporters that Love could return to practice as soon as next week. Love is expected to be ready for the team’s regular season opener on September 7th against the Lions. Love played 15 games last season, throwing for 3,389 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Harris did so off to the side with an athletic trainer as he continues to recover from a superficial eye injury that he suffered during a fireworks mishap on the Fourth of July. The 27-year-old had been walking laps with a helmet and weighted vest around the practice field since August 2nd. Harris is currently on the non-football injury list, but his agent said that he expects him to be ready for the season.

Veteran signal caller Tyrod Taylor will miss the remainder of the preseason after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. Head coach Aaron Glenn said the procedure was a “minor scope” and is unsure if Taylor will be ready for the season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 7th.

(New York, NY) — The NBA is revealing some of its marquee games for the upcoming season. The league announced the season will tipoff October 21st with the Houston Rockets visiting the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Lakers hosting the Golden State Warriors. Both games will be on NBC and stream on Peacock, marking the first time NBA games will be on NBC since 2002. Other big games revealed include the Rockets and Lakers meeting on Christmas Day and the Detroit Pistons hosting the Boston Celtics on MLK Day. The full NBA schedule will be released Thursday.

(Undated) — The Oklahoma Sooners are adding a major defensive playmaker to their 2026 recruiting class. Five-star defensive end Jake Kreul announced his commitment to Oklahoma during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday. Kreul is ESPN’s fourth-ranked defensive end and 22nd-ranked overall prospect in the cycle. The edge rusher plays at Florida’s IMG Academy and entered the month as the lone remaining uncommitted five-star prospect on ESPN’s rankings. Kreul chose the Sooners over Ole Miss and Texas following official visits to all three finalists.

(South Williamsport, PA) — The Little League World Series begins in Williamsport on Wednesday. Ten teams from around the United States and 10 more from across the globe will compete in the double-elimination tournament. The US teams hail from Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas and Washington. The international bracket features teams from Aruba, Australia, Canada, Chinese Taipei, South Czech Republic, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. A team from the United States has won the last six tournaments dating back to 2018.
