WAYNE COUNTY BOARD TO MEET THURSDAY, AUGUST 14TH

The Wayne County Board will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, August 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the upstairs courtroom of the Wayne County Courthouse.
The agenda includes a presentation from Mary Murphy of Southern Illinois Critter Fixers, followed by chairman’s comments and appointments.
Under old business, the board is set to consider approval of the amended Animal Control/Humane Society contract for the 2026 budget. Office reports are expected from the State’s Attorney, Circuit Clerk, Sheriff, County Clerk (covering website information, taxes, and 2026 elections), Treasurer, Supervisor of Assessments, Coroner, and Health Department.
Committee reports will include updates from Claims/Finance (payment of bills), Sheriff, EMA, Animal Control/Welfare, Road & Bridge, Insurance/Education, Building & Grounds/Safety, Economic Development, Rules & Policy, and the Liquor Commission.
The meeting may also include other business, as well as an executive session if needed. Any votes resulting from the executive session will be taken before adjournment.
