The Effingham County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle accident late Tuesday morning in Union Township that left both drivers injured.
The crash occurred just after 11:30 a.m. on Highway 45 near the intersection with 500th Avenue. According to the sheriff’s report, a vehicle driven by Robert H. Willison of Flora was traveling south on Highway 45 as Yvonne M. Tannahill of Cisne was traveling north toward the same intersection.
Authorities say Tannahill failed to yield the right of way and began turning left onto 500th Avenue, causing the two vehicles to collide head-on.
Both Willison and Tannahill were transported by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment of injuries.
