The Illinois State Fair continues in Springfield with First Responder Day and Healthcare Heroes Day today, offering free admission to all police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and healthcare workers who present their badge at the gate.
Livestock shows are ongoing, and tonight’s Grandstand entertainment features The Chainsmokers in concert at 8:00 p.m.
Saturday is Park District Conservation Day, with members from more than 45 park districts across Illinois participating. The day will also include additional livestock shows, a pickleball tournament, USAC auto racing at 2:00 p.m., and demo derby & boat trailer races in The Arena. That evening, Def Leppard will take the Grandstand stage with Phil X & The Drills at 8:00 p.m.
The fair wraps up on Sunday with Family Day, featuring a cheer and dance showcase, draft horse pulling, a chili cookoff, ARCA auto racing at 1:00 p.m., and a Grandstand performance by the Turnpike Troubadours with Whitney Morgan and the 78’s at 8:00 p.m.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can also enjoy Conservation World’s outdoor activities, live entertainment, carnival rides, games, and the wide variety of food concessions the Illinois State Fair is known for.
