1ST ANNUAL BENEFIT RIDE FOR GIVENHOPE FOR CANCER SET FOR SEPTEMBER 6TH

The 1st Annual Benefit Ride for Givenhope for Cancer will take place on Saturday, September 6th starting and ending at Roadhouse Harley-Davidson, 205 North 44th Street in Mt. Vernon. A rain date is set for September 13th.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with a free T-shirt for the first 100 participants. The cost is $25 per bike or $30 per car, and all vehicles are welcome. Kickstands go up at 10:30 a.m.

The day’s activities will include raffles, silent auctions, bike blessings, door prizes, and a meal at 4:00 p.m., followed by drawings at 5:00 p.m.

Two major raffles are being held in conjunction with the event:

Men’s Victory Lane II Leather Jacket Raffle – Tickets are $15 each or 5 for $50, with prizes including a Men’s size XL Harley-Davidson leather jacket, a $60 Harley-Davidson gift certificate, and a $40 Harley-Davidson gift certificate.

2012 Harley-Davidson XL1200CP Raffle – Tickets are $75 each or 5 for $250. The bike has less than 7,000 miles, and the winner can pick it up at Roadhouse Harley-Davidson.

Tickets are available at Givenhope for Cancer, 2845 Benton Road, Mt. Vernon, and Roadhouse Harley-Davidson, 204 N 44th Street, Mt. Vernon. Payments and donations can also be made via PayPal or Venmo.

The event is being held in memory of Mike O’Dea, with all proceeds benefiting Givenhope for Cancer. Winners do not need to be present to claim raffle prizes. Givenhope is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients. Givenhope has helped with funeral expenses, wheelchairs, transportation to medical appointments, purchased fuel and food cards, hotel expenses, and a gym membership to help a gentleman who was required to do physical therapy. Givenhope Thrift Shop accepts donations of clothes, housewares, books, décor and more. Of course, monetary donations are always helpful. The store needs volunteers to help with basic cleaning and organizing donations.
