FDA WARNS PUBLIC ABOUT POSSIBLE CONTAMINATION IN WALMART SHRIMP

The Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers to avoid eating certain Great Value brand raw frozen shrimp sold at Walmart.

According to the FDA, the agency was alerted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection that shrimp imported from Indonesia may have been exposed to a radioactive isotope from its shipping containers. While no contaminated shrimp is believed to have entered the U.S. food supply, the FDA is urging caution.

The affected products are Great Value raw frozen shrimp with various lot codes and all with a Best By Date of March 15, 2027.
