TWO ARRESTED IN MOUNT VERNON SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

Two people were arrested Friday in connection with a shooting investigation in Mount Vernon.
Police say they responded to reports of gunfire the evening of August 21st in the 700 block of Conger. No injuries or property damage were reported, but evidence was recovered at the scene.
The following day, the Mt. Vernon Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team executed a search warrant in the 1100 block of South 13th Street. Officers recovered two firearms and arrested two suspects.
Forty-year-old Eric Nabors of Mt. Vernon is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a repeat felony offender, and felon in possession of a firearm.
Eighteen-year-old Korinthian Davis of Mt. Vernon is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm. Mt. Vernon Police continue to investigate the incident.
