In recent cases in Wayne County Circuit Court:
John W. Cone Jr., 44, of Fairfield, pled guilty to Battery. He was sentenced to 18 months of probation, ordered to pay court costs, and must have no contact with the victim. Cone was also given credit for seven days time served in the Wayne County Jail.
Harry Z. Strange, 37, of Louisville, pled guilty to Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine stemming from a November, 2023 offense. Strange is already serving time in the Illinois Department of Corrections on unrelated Clay County charges. He was sentenced to three years in IDOC, to run concurrent with his Clay County sentence.
Jessica L. Loyd, 23, of Olney, pled guilty to Theft. She was sentenced to two years of probation, ordered to pay court costs, and must make $8,250 restitution to the victim in the case.
