The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a food safety alert following a Salmonella outbreak linked to recalled eggs. The outbreak has affected 95 people across 14 states, with 18 hospitalizations reported. Fortunately, no deaths have occurred.
Country Eggs, a California-based company, has recalled its Large Brown Cage Free “Sunshine Yolks” eggs. The majority of the cases, over 70, are from California, with additional cases reported in Nevada, Washington, and Minnesota.
The CDC advises against eating, selling, or serving the recalled eggs. Consumers experiencing severe Salmonella symptoms should contact their healthcare provider immediately.
The agency emphasizes the importance of food safety practices to prevent further infections.
