Hamilton Memorial Hospital District has appointed Justin Epperson as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1st.
Epperson has been serving as Interim CEO since July, following the departure of Victoria Woodrow, who led the district for a decade. He joined HMHD in 2018 as Chief Financial Officer, where he developed a long-term financial plan, strengthened interdepartmental communication, and oversaw modernization projects. Prior to that, he worked 16 years as a financial analyst at SSM Health in Mt. Vernon.
A native of Hamilton County, Epperson holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and is pursuing a master’s in accounting and public administration at SIU.
“I’m honored and humbled to continue serving Hamilton Memorial Hospital District in this new capacity,” Epperson said. “This organization and community mean a great deal to me, and I’m committed to ensuring continued high-quality care for our patients.”
Wayne Morris, President of the HMHD Board of Directors, praised Epperson’s leadership, saying his experience and dedication to the community make him the right choice to guide the district into the future.
Epperson succeeds Victoria Woodrow, under whose leadership HMHD advanced patient care, improved facilities, and expanded community outreach.
