Illinois Eastern Community Colleges (IECC) is celebrating a historic milestone in its health professions programs, achieving the highest-ever pass rate for nursing students on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and a perfect pass rate in radiography.
This year, IECC nursing students recorded a remarkable 98% pass rate, significantly higher than the national average of 87%. Individual campus results were equally impressive, with Frontier Community College achieving 94%, while Lincoln Trail College, Olney Central College, and Wabash Valley College all reported perfect 100% pass rates.
In addition to the nursing program’s achievements, Olney Central College’s Radiography program also celebrated a 100% registry pass rate for its 2025 cohort, along with a 100% employment rate for its graduates. Dr. Alani Frederick, Dean of Health Professions at IECC remarked, “Radiography is an incredibly in-demand program at IECC, and for a great reason. Our students learn from faculty and local clinicians in a model that ensures they can easily earn their license.”
The success of IECC’s programs is rooted in a responsive and collaborative educational approach. Dr. Frederick explained that nursing faculty meet every semester to revise curriculum, develop simulations, and enhance clinical experiences, ensuring that education evolves in tandem with current practices and research.
Applications for IECC’s Nursing and Radiography programs will open this fall for a Fall 2026 start. Dr. Frederick encouraged prospective students, stating, “Our results show that a positive, community-based program can provide quality, result-driven education.”
With these achievements, IECC continues to demonstrate its commitment to producing skilled healthcare professionals ready to serve their communities effectively.
