Frontier Community College is pleased to announce a groundbreaking ceremony for its new athletic facility, scheduled for Tuesday, September 16th at 4:30 p.m. The ceremony will take place between Mason Hall and Bob Boyles Hall, and the public is invited to attend.
The new facility marks a significant investment in the future of FCC athletics and the local community. At its meeting on August 19th held at Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel, the Illinois Eastern Community College Board of Trustees approved a $5,651,000 bid from Bevis Construction, Inc. to oversee the project.
Construction is expected to begin this fall. During this period, Frontier Drive may be temporarily inaccessible due to construction activity, and occasional traffic delays should be anticipated.
Once complete, the athletic facility will provide expanded opportunities for both students and student-athletes, while serving as a cornerstone for the continued growth of Frontier athletics. The college looks forward to celebrating this exciting milestone alongside students, faculty, alumni, and community members at the groundbreaking ceremony.
