TWO SENTENCED THIS WEEK IN WAYNE COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT

Two area residents were sentenced this week in Wayne County Circuit Court following guilty pleas in separate cases.

On Monday, 44-year-old Arthur Barger of Carmi pled guilty to Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. He was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay court costs. Barger was also given credit for five days previously served in the Wayne County Jail.

On Tuesday, 35-year-old Nathan Ellison of Calhoun pled guilty to Unlawful Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Ellison was sentenced to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections plus court costs, with credit for 13 days served. His sentence will run concurrently with a Richland County case for which he is already serving time in the Department of Corrections.
