Residents traveling in Marion County next week are being reminded of lane closures on U.S. Route 50 and Illinois Route 37 in Marion County starting Tuesday.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says pavement evaluations will take place on the highways, weather permitting. The work will require occasional daytime lane closures at the following locations: U.S. Route 50 from Metcalf Road to the Clay County line, and Illinois Route 37 from Madison Street to .4 miles south of Cross Street in Kinmundy. Work on U.S. Route 50 will be performed first.
Motorists should expect delays and are being encouraged to use alternate routes, slow down and be alert for changing conditions, obey construction signs and refrain from using mobile devices in work zones.
