Alice Rachel (Peyton) Duvall, 90, of Crossville, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025. She was born on Friday, March 22, 1935, in Carmi, Illinois, a daughter of James Henry and Ruby E. (Leonard) Peyton. Alice married Frank Giltner Duvall on February 20, 1953, and together they shared 56 years of marriage until his passing on February 2009.
Alice worked as a seamstress for Ainsbrook Sewing Factory. She was a member of Georgia General Baptist Church in Carmi. Alice loved to sew and read and enjoyed helping her family with bookkeeping and finances. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Kathy Hurt of Poseyville, IN; grandchildren, Troy (Robin) Hurt of Crossville, IL. and Leah Browning of Grayville, IL; great-grandchildren, Brian (Cynthia) Hurt, Anna Hurt, Christopher (Haley) Hurt, and Izeke Sanders; great-great grandchildren, Audree and Layla; siblings, Lula Witcher, Nina Duckworth, Donna Daughtery, Larry Peyton and Dianna (Buddy) Schwindel; a daughter-in-law, Dianna Duvall of Evansville, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Frank Duvall, Alice is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Roger Dale Duvall; and siblings, Jim Peyton, Anita Schneider, and Jerry Peyton.
Funeral services for Alice Duvall will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, in the chapel at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service, 101 Edgewood Lane, Carmi, IL. with Pastor Ron Fellows officiating. Burial will follow immediately at North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Alice’s memory to the National Kidney Foundation, in honor of her son, Dale, and will be accepted at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service who has been entrusted with the arrangements
