MOTORCYCLE CRASH INJURES RIDER AT I-57 DRAG STRIP

A motorcycle rider was seriously injured in a crash Sunday afternoon at the I-57 Drag Strip in Franklin County.
Authorities say the accident occurred just after 4 p.m. while the rider was on the strip. The individual suffered multiple injuries and was transported by Abbott EMS to SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment.
The Benton Fire Department also responded to the scene and cleared the area around 4:40 p.m. No other injuries were reported in connection with the crash.
