The Fairfield Fall Fest kicks off tomorrow evening in downtown Fairfield, beginning with Church Night on the main stage at 6:30 p.m.
Festivities continue Thursday with the FNB 5K run, with registration at 4:30 p.m. and the race beginning at 6 p.m., followed by awards at 7 p.m. Children’s activities will take place in Freedom Park from 5 to 8 p.m. each evening. The Wayne County Arts Alliance will feature a display of Lucas Gifford’s work alongside music by Jim McGill and Conner Atteberry. Attendees can also shop handcrafted items, watch a pottery demonstration, and enjoy local painters outside RJ on Main.
Thursday will also bring the Fun Fest Prince and Princess Contest at 5:30 p.m. and the Miss Fall Fun Fest pageant at 7:30 p.m., with 19 contestants competing for the crown currently held by Eden Duckworth.
Friday night’s entertainment includes Bill Grimes’ one-man band, joined by Terry Smith and Bob Grimes, at 6 p.m. At 8 p.m., The Traveling Salvation Show, a Neil Diamond tribute band, will headline the main stage.
Saturday begins bright and early at 6:30 a.m. with the Community Breakfast at the Masonic Lodge. The rib cookoff fires up at 7 a.m. with awards at 4 p.m., while the mixed doubles pickleball tournament gets underway at 8 a.m. at Lakeside Park. The Lemond’S Chrysler Car Show starts with registration at 8 a.m., followed by the baked goods competition at 10 a.m.
Children’s activities highlight Saturday morning, with the WADI Headstart Kiddie Parade lining up at 10:30 a.m. at Northside School and stepping off at 11 a.m. Kiddie Corner activities, a petting zoo, and a pedal pull will follow at noon near the high rise. The Hannah House Museum will also mark its 20th birthday celebration from 10 a.m. to noon.
Other Saturday events include a cornhole tournament at noon at the Elks Club, the return of the Fairfield Live Variety Show at 2 p.m., a performance by the FCHS Band from 5 to 6 p.m., and bingo under the tent starting at 5 p.m. The Volunteers for a Progressive Fairfield will host Chuck a Duck at 6 p.m., and the Duke Boys will perform at 6:30 p.m.
