The annual Ford Town Fun Fest is set for this Friday and Saturday in downtown Flora, with activities taking place in front of the Flora Public Library. Food trucks will be set up along East 2nd Street throughout the event.
Festivities begin Friday evening with a Cruise-In from 5 to 8 p.m., starting at the Beck’s Auto Sales parking lot. The first 100 vehicles will receive dash plaques. The Cruise-In is open to all makes and models, with drivers cruising through town and past Heritage Woods to give residents a close look at the cars. Family activities, including inflatables and yard games, will also be available at the library.
On Saturday, the Clay County Cruisers will host a car show with registration from 9 a.m. until noon. Entry is $15, with dash plaques for the first 100 participants. Awards will be presented to the top 75 entries along with five specialty honors. For more information, call 618-676-4005, 618-662-5646, or 618-676-7732.
Craft and food vendors, inflatables, and games will also open at 9 a.m. Saturday, with Monkey Business, the monster truck, on display. At noon, the craft beer and wine fest and chili cookoff sampling will begin, along with a dunking booth. Car show awards will be announced at 3 p.m., followed by judging for the craft beer and chili contests at 4 p.m.
