A major resurfacing project on U.S. Route 45 between Enfield and Mill Shoals is scheduled to begin this week, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The work will cover Route 45 from Illinois Route 14, about eight-tenths of a mile south of Enfield, north to the Wayne-White County line. The project also includes installation of handicap-accessible ramps in both Enfield and Mill Shoals.
Howell Paving, Inc. of Mattoon is the prime contractor. Pavement patching is expected to begin today (Tuesday, September. 16th) and continue through November. Full roadway resurfacing is scheduled for spring or early summer of next year.
