One of the most beloved Fall Fun Fest traditions returns tomorrow morning (Saturday) with the annual Kiddie Parade, sponsored by WADI/Head Start.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. at North Side School, with onsite judging taking place shortly thereafter. The parade officially steps off at 11 a.m., making its way south on First Street to the Fairfield High Rise.
Children from ages 0 to 11 are invited to participate, with judging divided into three age brackets:
0–3 years
4–6 years
7–11 years
Entrants will be judged in the following categories:
Pets
Walking
Wagons
Bicycles
Children’s Battery-Operated Vehicles
(Please note: no ATVs or large motorized vehicles are allowed.)
One trophy will be awarded per group in each category, with judges especially looking for creativity and decoration. After the parade, the fun continues at the Fairfield High Rise, where the FCHS Mules Football Team will be serving up pizza donated by One Step Ahead HME and bottled water provided.
A big thank-you goes out to the many local groups and volunteers who make this event possible, including:
FCHS Football Team – serving refreshments
One Step Ahead HME – pizza donation
Fairfield Fire Department – providing ice
FCHS Cheer Squad – judging the entries
Fairfield Grade Bands – leading the parade
Fairfield Police Department – ensuring parade route safety
