The North Wayne Community Unit School District #200 Board of Education will convene for a Budget Hearing and Regular Meeting on Monday night at the Cisne Middle School.
The evening will begin with a Budget Hearing at 6:50 PM, where board members will call the meeting to order, conduct roll call, discuss the proposed 2025-2026 budget, and seek approval before adjourning.
The Regular Meeting is scheduled to follow at 7:00 PM. The agenda includes the Pledge of Allegiance, roll call, and approval of a consent agenda. Items for approval include minutes from the August 20th meeting, personal leave and dock day requests, an FMLA leave request for an employee at Mt. Erie Elementary, and the resignation of Natalie Hilliard as Cisne High School Assistant Scholar Bowl Coach.
Financial matters will be addressed, with the board set to approve payment of bills and review the treasurer’s report and district income.
Non-agenda items such as communications, visitor comments, and the superintendent’s report will be presented, while there are no committee meetings scheduled for this month.
Under Old Business, the board will discuss and consider the purchase of a large fan for the Mt. Erie gymnasium as well as the acquisition of a district activity bus.
New Business topics are set to include a memorandum of understanding for the Performance Evaluation Reform Act with the North Wayne Education Association, action on the FY25 Administrator and Teacher Salary and Benefits Report, the FY26 School Maintenance Grant Project, a review of the district’s bullying policy, replacement of the ADA lift at Cisne High School, and a proposed transfer of funds from the Education Fund to the Tort Fund. The board will also discuss township policy as it relates to Board of Education elections.
An executive session may be held to discuss personnel matters, student discipline, litigation, and collective bargaining. Specifically, the board will discuss the CMS Volunteer Cheer Coach position, with possible action to follow in open session.
