A Mt. Vernon, IL school bus driver is being credited for helping to save the life of a student earlier this week during her route in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Reports say Jennifer Langston, a driver for Durham School Services, noticed a student on her bus began choking and took quick action. Langston was able to pull the bus over and perform the Heimlich maneuver, dislodging an obstruction in the student’s throat. A school nurse met the bus and assessed the student, who was reported to be doing well. Langston’s quick thinking and actions were widely praised.
