38-year-old Shania J. Buchanan of Fairfield was sentenced last Thursday in Wayne County Court to one year in the Illinois Department of Corrections after admitting to violating the terms of her two-year probation. Upon her release, Buchanan must also serve six months of parole.
Buchanan had previously pleaded guilty to felony possession of a controlled substance. As part of her plea agreement, Judge Matt Vaughn dismissed five other cases from 2025.
