The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department responded to a one-vehicle accident early Monday morning on County Highway 25 (Blue Mound Road) near County Road 2250N, northwest of Cisne.

Shortly before 4 a.m., a 2011 Toyota Sienna, driven by 44-year-old MonaLiza Hearle of Cisne, was traveling north on County Highway 25 when Hearle swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a Wayne-White power pole, and overturned into a bean field, coming to rest on its roof.

Emergency personnel from Clay County Ambulance responded to the scene. Hearle was transported to Clay County Hospital in Flora for treatment of her injuries.
