Both directions of Interstate 57 will be closed between exit 65 and exit 59 in Williamson and Franklin counties starting at 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 5th. The closure is necessary to demolish the Stiritz Road bridge over I-57 just north of Johnston City.
A marked detour will be in place for northbound and southbound traffic, using Illinois 37 to bypass the work zone. Flaggers, message boards, and other traffic control devices will guide motorists.
All lanes are scheduled to reopen by 7 a.m. Monday, October 6th.
