Residents across the region have been enjoying a stretch of beautiful, warm weather, and according to forecasters, those pleasant conditions are expected to stick around through the weekend.
Meteorologists say skies will remain mostly sunny with just a few passing clouds, keeping temperatures feeling very warm. High pressure continues to dominate the weather pattern, steering dry air into the area and ensuring that rain stays out of the forecast through Sunday.
Daytime highs are projected to stay in the mid to upper 80s, which is notably above the seasonal average for this time of year. Typical highs in early October are usually in the upper 70s, making this stretch of warmth especially unusual.
The run of dry, warm days isn’t expected to break immediately. However, forecasters are monitoring changes on the horizon as the high pressure system begins to move east early next week. A weather system tracking north from the Gulf of Mexico could bring a slight chance of showers to the region Monday into Monday night. While any rainfall is expected to be light and scattered, meteorologists will be watching closely to see how far north the moisture extends.
For now, residents can expect dry conditions and above-average warmth to persist for at least the next seven days. Any potential rainfall early next week is not expected to bring significant relief from the warm, dry pattern.
