The Chicago Cubs are on the brink of elimination following a 7-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers in Game Two of the National League Divisional Series at American Family Field. Seiya Suzuki gave the Cubs an early lead with a three-run home run in the first inning, but Chicago surrendered seven unanswered runs to end the game. Shota Imanaga was charged with the loss after allowing four runs on five hits in two-and-two-thirds innings. The Cubs trail 2-0 in the best-of-five series. Game Three is in Chicago tomorrow.

Blues Announce Opening Night Roster
(St. Louis, MO) — The St. Louis Blues have released their roster for opening night. The Blues revealed their 23-man active roster yesterday. Notably, veteran Milan Lucic did not make the team. The 37-year-old joined St. Louis on a professional tryout contract during training camp. The Blues take on the Wild in their first regular season game on Thursday night.

(Sunrise, FL) — The Chicago Blackhawks begin the 2025-26 season with a game against the Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena today. The Blackhawks are looking to get back to the playoffs for the first time since 2020. This afternoon’s game begins at 4:00PM.

The Jacksonville Jaguars capped off the week with a thrilling last-minute 31-28 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in an AFC battle at EverBank Stadium. Trevor Lawrence scored the go-ahead touchdown on a one-yard rush with 23 seconds remaining to lift the Jags to a third straight win. Lawrence passed for 221 yards, one touchdown and an interception while also leading the team in rushing with 54 yards and two scores. Week Six kicks off with the New York Giants playing host to the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in an NFC East showdown on Thursday Night Football at MetLife Stadium.

(El Segundo, CA) — The Chargers will be without their first-round rookie running back for the foreseeable future. Los Angeles is placing Omarion Hampton on injured reserve because of an ankle injury. Hampton will now miss at least the next four games after suffering the injury in the third quarter of the team’s loss to the Washington Commanders in Week Five. The 22-year-old joins fellow running back Najee Harris on IR after the veteran sustained a season-ending ruptured Achilles in Week Three. Hampton has 314 yards and two touchdowns on the ground to go along with 20 catches for 136 yards this season. In other news, the team has designated linebacker Denzel Perryman to return from IR.

(Foxboro, MA) — The Patriots have been dealt a blow to their backfield. According to ESPN, running back Antonio Gibson has torn his right ACL. Gibson exited New England’s victory over Buffalo after taking a big hit on a kickoff return in the second quarter. The 27-year-old has carried the ball 25 times for 106 yards and a touchdown this season. The Pats visit the Saints on Sunday.

(Undated) — A pair of National League teams are on the verge of making the next round of the MLB playoffs. The defending World Series champion Dodgers are ahead 2-0 in the NLDS after taking down Phillies 4-3 from Philadelphia. The Brewers followed up with a 7-3 win over the Cubs from Milwaukee. Both teams will try to advance on Wednesday. The ALDS continues on Tuesday as the Tigers and Mariners square off in a 1-1 series from Detroit while the Blue Jays look to eliminate the Yankees in Game Three from the Bronx.

>>Red Sox C Narvaez To Undergo Knee Surgery

(Undated) — A member of the Red Sox is set to undergo offseason surgery. Boston chief baseball officer Craig Breslow said that catcher Carlos Narvaez [[ nahr-VIE-ez ]] is scheduled to have left knee surgery to repair his meniscus. The Red Sox acquired Narvaez in a trade with the rival New York Yankees last winter in exchange for right-hander Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz. The 26-year-old backstop finished the season hitting .241 with 15 home runs and 50 RBIs in 118 games played.

(Memphis, TN) — The Grizzlies will be without a star for the foreseeable future. Memphis guard Ja Morant is considered “week-to-week” with a sprained ankle he suffered during practice on Sunday. Morant joins forward Jaren Jackson Jr. and center Zach Edey as key contributors currently out with injuries. Morant averaged 23.2 points and seven-point-three assists in 50 games last season.

>>NBA Not Moving All-Star Game Out Of L.A. Amid Clippers Probe

(Stamford, CT) — The NBA All-Star Game will remain in Los Angeles amid the league’s probe into the LA Clippers and star forward Kawhi Leonard. NBA commissioner Adam Silver said that there is no contemplation of moving the All-Star Game from the Intuit Dome as the league continues to investigate whether the Clippers circumvented salary cap rules with Leonard. The NBA opened an investigation last month after a report centered on a 28-million-dollar endorsement deal between Leonard and Aspiration Fund Adviser LLC. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer had made a 50-million-dollar investment in Aspiration, with the company and franchise announcing a 300-million-dollar partnership in 2021. The All-Star Game will be televised on NBC on February 15th.

(Phoenix, AZ) — The Aces and Mercury will continue the WNBA Finals Wednesday. Las Vegas leads the series two games to zero after holding serve at home. Jackie Young scored 32 points in a 91-78 win in game two, while A’ja Wilson contributed 28 points and 14 rebounds. Phoenix’s Kahleah Copper and Satou Sabally scored 23 and 22 points, respectively. The Aces are trying for their third championship in four years, while the Mercury are looking to win their first since 2014.

(Edmonton, AB) — The best player in hockey is staying in Edmonton. The Oilers extended Connor McDavid on Monday to a two-year, 25-million-dollar contract. The 28-year-old was heading into the last season of an eight-year, 100-million-dollar deal. McDavid helped lead Edmonton to two straight Stanley Cup Final appearances and ranks fifth all-time in points before turning 29-years-old.
