Local Modern Woodmen members honored Wayne City Fire Chief, Scott Clark of Wayne City recently for his countless hours of service to the community. Clark received recognition through Modern Woodmen of America’s Hometown Heroes Program for dedicating more than 40 years to the fire department.
As part of the honor, the Modern Woodmen Fairfield chapter presented Clark with a certificate and awarded a $100 grant to the Wayne City Ruritan Club, the charitable organization of his choice.
The Hometown Heroes Program, coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, provides opportunities for individuals to connect through social activities and volunteer projects. “Improving the quality of life for our members, their families, and their communities is Modern Woodmen’s mission,” said Linda Greenwalt, local Modern Woodmen activities coordinator. “The Hometown Heroes Program helps us acknowledge and thank volunteers across the country for doing just that.”
Modern Woodmen of America is a tax-exempt fraternal benefit society that sells life insurance, annuity, and investment products to benefit its members, their families, and local communities. Each year, Modern Woodmen and its members contribute more than $23 million and nearly one million volunteer hours for community projects nationwide.
