David Wendell Stover 82, of McLeansboro

David Wendell Stover 82, of McLeansboro, IL passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. David was born June 25, 1943 in McLeansboro. He was a son of Walter “Hub” Stover and Maud (Mezo) Stover. On August 5, 1961 he married Charlene Kay (Brown) Stover and she passed away October 8, 2012. On January 16, 2016 he married Dionis (Villatoro) Stover and she survives.

David attended the First General Baptist Church of McLeansboro, IL. He was a retired truck driver.

Survivors include his wife Dionis Stover, sons Gregory Lee Stover and wife Kim from Louisiana, Jeffrey Alan Stover and wife Christie, McLeansboro, IL. and Michael Shane Stover and wife Toni, Jacksonville, FL. and a stepson George Elliot Henriquez and wife Laura, San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Grandchildren surviving is Jonathan, Shaelynn, Luke, Caden, Justin, Ian and Aubrie along with great-grandchildren Alaina, Liam, Landon, Madyline, Hayden, Remmington and Averie.

David is preceded in death by his parents, wife Kay Stover, brother Danny Stover and sisters Sue Stover Roundtree and Georgiana Miller.

Visitation for David Stover will be Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Barry Steed officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, McLeansboro, IL.
