On Monday Night, the Lady Mules Volleyball Team was in action at the Mule Barn against Edwards County for the Annual Pink-Out game. For the Pink-Out Game, the crowd had a chance to bid on a pink game ball signed by both teams, to raise money for the Dennis Scranton Memorial Cancer Fund. The Lady Mules Varsity lost a hard-fought battle against the Lady Lions in 3 Sets, 25-20, 20-25, & 25-27. The JV squad got a victory in 2 Sets, 25-17 & 25-13. The Frosh team started the night with a 3-set victory, 20-25, 25-15, & 18-16. The Lady Mules will be in action again tonight for another BDC matchup at Eldorado

(Undated) — Week Six of the NFL season wrapped up with a Monday night doubleheader. The Falcons shocked the Bills 24-14 in Atlanta to open the night. The Bears wrapped up the week by walking off with a 25-24 win over the Commanders. Week Six kicked off with the Giants upsetting the Eagles 34-17 on Thursday Night Football. Elsewhere, the Buccaneers outlasted the 49ers 30-19 and the Chiefs took down the Lions 30-17 on Sunday Night Football.

(Nashville, TN) — The Tennessee Titans are firing head coach Brian Callahan. It comes after the Titans lost the Las Vegas Raiders and are now one-and-five on the season. Callahan was hired before the 2024 season and had a record of four-and-19 as Titans head coach. He’s the first NFL head coach to be fired this season.

(Undated) — The NFL is handing down a punishment to Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch following a fight he instigated following the team’s Monday Night Football matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. The league is suspending Branch for one game without pay for unsportsmanlike conduct after he punched Kansas City wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and caused a brief fight after the game concluded. NFL vice president of football operations Jon Runyan said in a letter to Branch that his conduct “reflected poorly on the NFL and has no place” in the game. NFL Network reports that the 23-year-old plans to appeal the suspension.

(Philadelphia, PA) — The Eagles are losing a key member of their pass rush to retirement. Philadelphia edge rusher Za’Darius Smith abruptly announced his retirement on social media on Monday. The veteran informed the team Monday morning about his decision following their Week Six loss to the New York Giants. The 33-year-old signed a one-year, 4.25-million-dollar deal with the team following Week One. He totaled 10 total tackles and one-and-a-half sacks through five games. Smith wraps up his career with 70-and-a-half sacks in 145 games split between the Ravens, Packers, Vikings, Browns, Lions and Eagles.

(Pittsburgh, PA) — The Steelers’ head coach is taking a shot at a division rival. Mike Tomlin told the media on Monday it was “shocking” to see the Browns send Joe Flacco to the Bengals. He said it “doesn’t make sense” to trade a former starting quarterback within the division. Pittsburgh is coming off an easy win over Cleveland and leads the North at 4-and-1 heading into a Thursday night matchup at Cincy.

(Florham Park, NJ) — The Jets appear to have dodged a major bullet. According to ESPN, wide receiver Garrett Wilson underwent an MRI on Monday and has avoided a serious knee injury. Wilson was hurt in Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos after landing awkwardly on an incomplete pass. The hope is for him to return after the Jets’ bye against the Cleveland Browns on November 9th.

(Cleveland, OH) — The Browns are taking a big step in building a new stadium. The Haslam Sports Group announced on Monday it has reached an agreement with the city of Cleveland to build a new domed arena in Brook Park. The proposal includes a 100-million-dollar commitment from the Haslams. Ownership and city officials will drop all lawsuits related to the move as part of the agreement.

(Undated) — The MLB postseason is heating up with the Championship Series. The Mariners blew out the Blue Jays 10-3 and are heading back home with a commanding, 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven ALCS. Game Three takes place on Wednesday. The defending champion Dodgers drew first blood against the league-best Brewers 2-1 from Milwaukee. The NLCS continues up North with Game Two on Tuesday.

>>Canadiens Sign Hutson To Eight-Year Extension

(Undated) — The reigning Calder Trophy winner is being rewarded with a long-term contract. The Montreal Canadiens are signing defenseman Lane Hutson to an eight-year, 70.8-million-dollar extension. ESPN reports the deal includes 55-million-dollars in signing bonus money. The 21-year-old had six goals and 60 assists while playing in all 82 games last season. His 60 assists set the record for the most by a rookie defenseman in NHL history. The Canadiens selected the Illinois native in the second round of the 2022 NHL Draft.

(Chapel Hill, NC) — Bill Belichick is still confident his ways will lead to winning at North Carolina. The Tar Heels head football coach said Monday that rumors of him looking for a buyout are categorically false. Belichick also praised general manager Michael Lombardi, and reminded everyone that the timing of his hire put North Carolina behind other schools in efforts to acquire players. UNC is 2-and-3 and will visit Cal Friday night.
